Frequently asked questions
What is Avasa?
Avasa is a meal, wellness and home planner that runs the everyday work of a household in one place. It plans the week's meals and builds the grocery list, keeps every person's appointments and checkups on track, gives the house a cleaning and upkeep rhythm, and counts down to birthdays, traditions and events. Avasa drafts the plans; the household reviews and approves them.
Who is Avasa for?
Anyone who keeps a home running: single-person households, couples and families. It is built for the person who carries most of the home's mental load and plans the week on their phone in short gaps, and it lets them invite a partner or another adult to share it.
How is Avasa different from a family calendar or shared to-do app?
A calendar or shared list holds what you put in it. Avasa plans: it drafts the week's menu, the grocery list, checkup schedules and a cleaning rhythm for you to approve. It also plans around what you choose to hand off, so nights you don't cook become a meal kit, a local home cook or takeout, kept off the grocery list with a reminder of what to order and by when. And it covers the whole home (meals, health, the house and events) in one place.
Does Avasa order groceries or food for me?
No. Avasa plans and remembers. It tells you what to buy and what to order and when; you order on each service's own site, or from your cook. Avasa never orders, books or pays on your behalf.
How does meal planning work in Avasa?
Avasa plans a weekly menu around who is home and how much time you have, using your family cookbook (you can import recipes from a link or a Google Doc). You choose which nights you cook and which you hand off. The grocery list is built from the menu, grouped by store, with a running budget, and Today's Menu shows what's planned on your Command Center.
Does Avasa track appointments and checkups?
Yes. Avasa keeps every appointment for every person in one place and flags checkups that are usually due by age, such as children's well-child, dental and flu visits and adult physicals, eye exams and screenings. It is not medical advice: it does not diagnose or recommend treatment.
Can I plan birthdays, holidays and events in Avasa?
Yes. Birthdays, anniversaries, traditions and events count down on the Command Center. For an event you can record where it is, a special menu (which can go straight onto that week's menu), open decisions and who is deciding, and reminders assigned to the right person. Traditions are chosen from a neutral list, and holidays whose date moves each year are never guessed.
How much does Avasa cost?
Essentials is free for 30 days, then $4.99 a month. Our first 20 beta families get Essentials free for 1 year. Two larger plans, Flourish ($12.99 a month) and Estate ($19.99 a month), are coming soon and have a waitlist.
Do children have accounts?
No. Children never have accounts or sign in. The adults in the household keep their children's records, such as checkups and birthdays.
Is my family's data private?
Each family's data is walled off from every other family's. You can download a copy of your data, or delete your account or your whole family's data, at any time from Family Settings.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Avasa runs in any web browser at myavasa.com and installs to the home screen on iPhone and Android. Native iPhone and Android apps are coming.
Does Avasa sync with Google Calendar?
Not in Essentials: birthdays, traditions and events live in Avasa. The full rituals calendar, connected to Google Calendar, is part of the Flourish plan, which is coming soon.
Where is Avasa available?
Avasa is available in the United States, in English. An India edition is planned.
